The totalitarian government of this future forbids its people from reading or taking a part in other acts that involve individual thinking.

The law against reading is, presumably, fairly new, and the government is faced with the enormous task of destroying all of its As we all know, Ray Bradbury, Author of Fahrenheit 451, made many predictions as to what this day and age would be like.

He was right in many cases including speed, entertainment, and the mindlessness of people.

From politicians right now and their attempts to censor the media, to censorship from the history of other foreign countries the actions of the “Firemen” in Bradbury’s novel In Fahrenheit 451, many events relate back to events that have occurred in history.

It helps bring the message that Bradbury is trying to bring across.
